Coca-Cola is not known for its environmental practices; however it's replaced 10 of it's traditional gas-guzzling trucks with hybrid trucks that will cover delivery routes in southern Florida. The company plans to replace 142 trucks nation wide with hybrids within the next few weeks. The hybrid trucks cut emissions by 32 percent and fuel consumption by 36 percent. For five years Coca-Cola has been working a Cleveland-based industrial manufacture called Eaton to develop the trucks.
It's amazing when a company takes steps to protect the environment without the government forcing the initiatives. Coca-Cola has taken a small step toward becoming more environmentally responsible and that's a good thing.

THAT'S GREAT!
EVEN IF I DON'T LIKE COKE... =]
That's awesome. It's nice to see multi-million dollar companies pitch in. Now, if only they would do something about the actual drink:-/
Hmmm good start. Hopefully the sheep flock effect occurs regarding this with MNCs
its alright but just throwing a bit of controversy in, the enviromental damage making a hybrid vehicle is about the same at driving a normal one. and they probably arent doing it for the enviroment. they are most likely doing it to save money on fuel. publicity stunt.
sad but most likely true.
Kimberley, I just found your blog. I'll have three scoops, please. Thanks for the good news. Perhaps I'll go have a coca-cola to celebrate . . .
Good for Coke. Gotta start somewhere!!
Wow, I am truly proud of Coca Cola for this! I was wondering when the business world was going to start realizing that the earth was changing. I am proud that they are helping to make a change in the world!:)
Wow! That's great and very surprising!
Just wanted to say hi. I saw your blog title from the blogger-buzz and decided to check it out. I got tempted to do so mainly because your blog title kind of convey the same spirit as mine.
Concerning your recent post, I agree with blackbird. When it comes to the environment, these multi billion dollar companies almost always choose to do the easy, most visible thing rather than the hard, more meaningful one.
See you down the road.
Thats good, more big company's should do the same.
Finally!!! That's great news for us and to many other huge corperates who're kind of afraid to make the big steps. Go Coke!!!
Wow, that's wonderful! I do still wish they made a version of Diet Coke that wasn't so addictive, though!!
(Drinking it RIGHT NOW)
That is really cool! I'm not a Coke person but good for them. Hopefully other large companies with jump on the band wagon.
Coke still does enough to damage the environment. And they do a great job at taking away the water from farmers in less developed countries.
Its abour time the company took some action in the fight against global warning. Hopefully other companies will follow in its footsteps!
I hear the trucks run on their own cargo which is passed through to the engine by a straw :P
Sometimes all it takes is for someone to say, "Let's start doing it this way". There's so much that can be done environmentally if just one person speaks out for change.
This is great news. Almost enough reason to switch from Pepsi to Coca Cola.
It's nice to see that the big companies like Coca-Cola are starting to care about the environment and trying to help in what they can. I just hope this isn't the only way Coca-Cola is planning to help, because I think that there's so much more that they can do.

I do think that Coca Cola had done a lot of work through out these years just to protect our environment.
It's amazing to hear that at least without asking them for help, they're voluntarily taking chances to do something that many people will consider for now one. I like the idea that they are wanting to help the earth to create it a better place to live in. And not also the Coca Cola company, many industries always are doing these kind of things just to protect our home.
Coca Cola has made a very good decision to take care of the environmental damaged that the human kind had done by making new types of vehicles and eliminating the pollution.
I'm really happy for them!
